my first vacation of the year.
I am sitting in the Sacramento airport bar, awaiting my flight to take me to Seattle. Yes, I am aware that it is December and I am leaving semi-sunny Northern California to be vacationing in Seattle where the weather forecast predicts rain all weekend. But, as my title states…. I haven’t had a vacation all year long and I will be staying with my two oldest and most influential friends over the past 15 years.
It will be a great time to reflect on my life the past year, see some new sites (like snow), make some homemade gnocchi, see my old boss, meet up with some new food blogging friends and of course drink some great wine. I am bringing a bottle of my favorite, a 2006 Papapietro Perry Pinot Noir and I hope to try some Washington State wines.
As I do every time I fly, I am texting those close to me that I love them. Just in case I don’t make it…. So the same goes to you…. If you are taking the time to read this, I love you as well.
